Joey Lubanski’s review published on Letterboxd:
Nightmare fuel turned into dream sauce
As a kid this movie gave me the most intense and frequent nightmares. I now watch it to help me sleep. Who even am I?
Also this is a masterpiece if that hasn’t been said enough already. The score is absolutely beautiful. The creature design/practical effects is obviously amazing enough to give my childhood some incredibly real fear. It’s an unparalleled experience that many films have tried to copy since.
ET - “I’ll be right here”
Also Elliot totally calls his brother “Penis breath” and this is reason alone for this to be a masterpiece.
Double also, everytime I watch this I low-key forget that Drew Barrymore is also here.
