In Hitchcock's noir-infused world of suspense and mystery, Charlie is besotted by Charlie, but Charlie is preoccupied by Charlie's secret. Charlie communicates through telepathy, but Charlie is more interested with, erm, Charlie.

"If I wanted to murder you tomorrow, do you think I'd waste my time on fancy hypodermics"

Shadow of a Doubt is a smart and well made film from the peak-Hitchcock wartime era, and is chock full of great performances that never seem to grow old. A tale of murder and deception, this is an absolute banger and unsurprisingly, Hitchcock's favourite of his films.
