    Can the adaptation live up to the wonderful novel? I braced myself for a disappointment. However, the film turned out to be pretty good too!

    There are few changes I didn't particularly enjoy (I won't go into details - no spoilers here!) or deem necessary for the film. Sure, you can't translate a novel to the screen 1:1 but it could have been a little more true to the source in some instances.

    Although I wasn't fond of the novel, I decided to give the movie a shot. Maybe the story works better on screen?

    The trailer had looked rather promising, so I was keen to check out the film.
    As I understood, it is based on a 1960s soap opera and picks up the setting as well as many of the characters.
    Even if you don't know the history the movie has, you'll soon notice that something is a bit off. It is terribly hard to condense the plot of an entire show that ran for several years…
