frustrating, bloated, emotionally incoherent, mean-spirited, cruel, indulgent, and nasty. but also (at least in its final half-hour) a lot of fun??? i’ve got mixed feelings, for sure. the film is not without its charms (brad pitt is having a blast, and is consistently a delight to watch), but i feel like there are some problems on a script level that bothered me enough to kind of sour the whole thing.
