Didn’t think I would see a burlesque show in an animated Disney film but the 80’s were a rough time
One of my greatest regrets is that I will never be able to see these guys live. One of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite musical group of all time. In spite of the fact that it leaves quite a bit of their history out of the narrative, it’s definitely worth a watch for anyone familiar with The Band, or just for anyone who has an appreciation for great music.

The question is, could an orangutan singlehandedly lift a manhole cover and chuck it like a frisbee, and could a silverback gorilla rip a parking meter out of the ground? The answer is, who cares?
Honestly at this point I’m kinda like, if the apes want earth they can have it.
Seriously though, this film beautifully builds on the themes of the original series, weaving together excellent CGI with compelling character arcs, namely that of Caesar. It asks what it means to be human and addresses the dangers of human hubris, as well as makes a couple points about the inescapability of fate.
