A modern telling of a classic “Faust” tsle. The members of “The Relentless”, make a deal with the devil in exchange for rock stardom. The story then follows the rise and pitfalls of the band and their impact on culture.

Honestly, the original music in this movie is great, but the script and acting aren’t. Malcolm McDowell is as usual ridiculous, and not in a good way. Full of cliches, it really fails to say anything new. It’s also not a horror movie, but more of a drama/thriller. Listen to the actual album instead of watching the movie, you’ll thank me. 2/5 stars

Ok, so this movie isn’t half as bad as people say it is. Is it great?  A Classic? nope. But it is shot well, acted well, has a great score and some decent moments of dread. Another solid film from director Chad Archibald (Bite). This cultish tale has some good cinematography, appropriately creepy music and it’s share on twists. There are some issues with the acting, but it’s not too distracting. Archibald still finds a way to get some really solid practical effects into his movies dispite less than enormous budgets. Definitely worth the watch once it’s out of the festival circuit and has a wide distribution.
