Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me ★★★★★

"That gum you like is going to come back in style."

For years now, Twin Peaks, both the TV series and the film, have been huge blind spots for me when it comes to David Lynch. With the new season fast approaching I figured it was finally time to take the plunge and I couldn't be happier that I did. Both entities are two of the best experiences I've had from a media standpoint, making this last week an intense and enriching time.

With Twin Peaks and the Black Lodge, everything with Lynch is starting to click after years of wracking my brain. Like Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Twin Peaks is the tissue that connects all of Lynch's work. There's references and pathways to everything hidden within this town and the Black Lodge itself. Fire Walk With Me is important that it not only connects the show to the outside world, it delves deeper into mythos of Bob and the darkness hidden within.

Compelling from start to finish, Twin Peaks, along with Fire Walk With Me are some of the filmmaker's greatest achievements and absolutely necessary in order to understand any of his works.

My highest recommendation.
