Shane McAvoy’s review published on Letterboxd:
The first 40 minutes were dope. It felt like a fresh take on a story you’ve seen a thousand times. It’s a shame the next hour is just the story you’ve seen a thousand times. And it fuckin’ DRAGS. Let’s all agree to never use an interview as a framing device ever again.
On the positive side, it’s well shot, Cardi B is genuinely great at playing herself, and you get to see J Lo dance to “Criminal” by Fiona Apple. It was nice of her to do that and it’s just like, included in the price of admission! Like when we got free Pokémon cards when we all saw Detective Pikachu, the film in which the actor Pikachu plays himself and has a little hat.
