Why not call this movie “Black Magic” instead. My girlfriend and I are horror addicts so she decided to pick this one for our valentines flick to watch and unfortunately we both had a rough time with this one. I heard about the social message and all the negative reviews but I didn’t care. We just wanted to see a solid horror flick. With me being a guilty fan of the 2006 remake I thought it couldn’t get much worse than the remake. Well, I was wrong. It’s honestly not that bad until the third act when I can see why this movie deserved all the negative reviews about it. I’m a big fan of Imogen Poots and I was so sad to see her in this even though she does a splendid job. It’s just that we were really upset that the director used the horror classic film title “Black Christmas” for a lazy and offensive attempt to get out her social message while trying to cash grab off the title instead of making a good horror movie. I don’t have time to explain why this movie is bad honestly. I’m sure there is other reviews to justify how bad this movie is. Just stay away from this toxic mess of a movie.
