Bravo. An old fashioned love story with a modern zing to it. Heartbreaking to say the least. I remember the age where a straight male would be considered “gay” or “sus” for watching a film of this nature, at least in my school. Well guess what, it’s 2021 and my goodness has this aged like fine wine or should I say canned beans because love never expires in a can. This is a wonderfully crafted portrayal of what used to be forbidden love and I can’t imagine being in the boots of these men who have been discriminated all because of their sexuality. Yes, it’s against my religion but yet I still deeply feel for the people who feel they can’t love the ones they want to love all because society tells them not to or hell, even murders them. Ledger and Gyllenhaal are incredible and this is obviously worth watching. It’s just amazing how times have progressed since then.
