I like the way Charlie Hunnam says "I was hoping for a position where I'd see a fair bit of action". That was a highlight. But seriously he's actually pretty good in this.
This is James Gray second great period film after The Immigrant, and while this is maybe not quite as amazing as that, Lost City of Z demonstrates once again Gray's talent for near perfect period detail, an excellent feeling of authenticity and fantastically composed shots. And he just gets performances from his actors that feel so real and emotional.
