I dunno. I liked it... I think? all the actors are great, the cameos are great, evokes the era perfectly, the cinematography in the club scenes is great. but the central relationship between ramona and destiny felt underwritten to me, despite the fact that they are given a lot of "moments" together. and every time the movie tried to get serious or movie into larger themes felt so hamfisted (was it really necessary to close the movie with a monologue in which someone says "the whole world is a strip club"? how many times does destiny really need to say that she didn't want to need anyone?). the montages in the second act are fun but after the nth one, you wonder whether we're getting them simply because the movie isn't sure what to do with the characters.
