love movies. talk movies. make movies.
A great film that displays in all its glory how the producers of this franchise continue to push boundaries with the medium and the way in which stories are presented. This film pays tons of homage to many a lost-in-space franchise we've seen before, like Alien for example. It has its own unique spin on things though, and doesn't shy away from humour and completely wacky moments. You have to go in with an open mind, and if this entire franchise hasn't taught you that yet, then maybe there's something wrong with you?
Super underrated, and it's lovely that this film has got some mainstream attention via the Oscars. A film I probably didn't give enough credit to the first time I saw it, but the story is remarkable and quite different to similar period pieces, even though there are very common environmental and societal factors from that period.
The film is technically stunning, and considering the budget i's pretty unbelievable when you see what this film looks like.
