People are gonna hate me for this, but... Hunt for the Wilderpeople is officially the first truly overrated movie I've seen come out of 2016. I didn't find it that funny, I thought the story was kind of boring, which in turn, made any action set pieces fall pretty flat for me. I thought the performances were very well displayed for the comedy it is and the it scores some decent points for executing a lively style throughout. There's quite a few great lines scattered throughout. I just thought the pacing and plot made for an uninteresting premise. This is strange, considering how awesome this all looks & sounds on paper. I didn't hate this though. Not even close. I think it was a good example of quality filmmaking. But also an example of people's personal taste in material bearing differences all the same.
