Things to Come ★★★½

Hopefully the beginning of watching some older films. I never seem to find the time for that anymore. Anyway, technically this is obviously impressive. Worth watching for the visuals alone, but its obsession with flight and constantly traveling further and further is quite hypnotic. As the artists towards the end exclaim, everything the others do nullifies their own beliefs, passions, accomplishments, etc., so they wish to end it. I found that depressing. Whether this is purely a film of dialects or mere aviophilia - perhaps a bit of both, honestly - it's still a fairly remarkable film from Menzies, Korda, and Wells.
