Gage’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’ve seen all of Paul’s work besides Hard Eight and I must say this is one of his most grounded movies and easiest to watch for the general audience. Though not the most exciting of films you’ll see from 2017, it does have just a frightening feel to it. It’s not scary by any means but every scene almost feels like we’re leading to a implosion of instensity. Daniel Day Lewis is actually really damn good which shouldn’t be too surprising, but instead we get more of a grounded performance from him which we haven’t gotten in sometime. I’ll be watching this a couple more times as I do think my appreciation will grow with more viewings.
