Mulholland Drive 2001
Could be the quarantine solipsism, but this one hit hard. I've revisited Mulholland Drive enough times that the game of cleverly puzzling out the narrative structure and finding the mirror images has lost its appeal. The shape of the film is clear enough that the tragedy of these characters echoes across it.
The interpretation of Diane's dream always made the most sense to me, and now the first half plays as if it's being retold by her, standing somewhere just…

The Clock 2010
Saw all 24 hours. The whole thing was just sublime, and I've only got some musings and observations:
• These characters do so many things with clocks. They start the clocks. They stop the clocks. They enter the clocks. They climb the clocks. They pull the clocks out of corpses. They kill using the clocks. They kill the clocks. They embrace the clocks. I was geniunely curious if someone would pull an American Pie with a clock.
