i finally got to see the directors cut today and it did not disappoint. there was so much added context to dani and christanโs relationship that wasnโt put in the theatrical cut. this movie is so special to me as Iโve been through such an awful trauma myself and this movie makes me feel so cathartic. the last two minutes leave me with chills down my back and absolutely breathless everytime. i might not watch this movie again for a while now. i think i just need to sit with what iโve seen and try and dissect everything. on my third viewing there were even more little things i noticed that i hasnโt noticed in my other screenings. florence pugh is the backbone to the movie and she deserves all the attention and awards in the world. itโs a shame this movie will probably be snubbed at awards season but i know in the bottom of my heart that this is one of the best movies ever.
