Wes doesn’t get enough credit for his versatility as a director. While all his films feel similar at first, they are all so different through various nuances.
Bravo, of course.
Jackson’s decision to create this film in a way that only uses historical footage and stills was absolutely beautiful. Furthermore, the fact that narration was non-existent except for testimonials from actual soldiers added so much to the emotional impact.
I found it difficult to speak when leaving the theater.
