Riley’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love that the themes of balance and duality are present even in the framing and lighting of shots. Particularly in scenes on Ahch-To, in which almost every shot has the set and Luke and Rey’s faces lit from the side or behind so they’re half and half light and dark, and landscape shots have the slope of the island filling half the screen diagonally like a painting. And later in the movie, the editing puts Holdo splitting the First Order ship at the same time as Kylo and Rey splitting Luke’s lightsaber, creating some awe inspiring symbolism of the duality of good and evil and light and dark throughout Star Wars.
