I have so many thoughts buzzing in my brain and I can’t wait to read what everyone else is saying, but here’s one takeaway that means the most to me: 4 years ago, Avengers: Age of Ultron came out and while enjoyable in parts, had some of the most horrendous writing for the female characters I’d ever seen. Natasha especially, was done SO dirty and it’s embarrassing to look back on.
But now, just 4 years later, I was legitimately moved by the female characters and impressed with the brevity and depth and actual respect they were given. That may seem like a low bar, but when this is about to become the biggest movie of all time, I really think it means something to see these women fighting and hurting and sacrificing just as much as the men, and it helps that the actresses are genuinely giving their all.
More thoughts to come upon rewatch but I just wanted to make note of that.
