The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain ★★★★★

Ho-leeeh Fuuuuck...

Nothing can prepare you for this experience. No matter how much you think you know about life, religion, spirituality, the universe, or whatever you want to call it. Jodorowsky brings his truly unique vision to life while touching upon a myriad of facets rooted in various mythology. While I do not particularly care for certain aspects of his interpretation, I respect it nonetheless. Something Jodorowsky depicted in the film was the mass production and monetization of religion. I do seem to agree with him in that area (if I am correct in my interpretation), as I believe spirituality is something every person must grasp in their own way rather than be told what to believe.

The Holy Mountain is a transformative experience, and contains some of the most bizarre imagery I've witnessed in a film. Jodorowsky undoubtedly accomplished something spectacular.
