Zach Snyder's Army of the Dead is a very entertaining film. I thought that zombie and heist genres wouldn't work. However, to my surprise, both of them blend well together. The cast are solid and have splendid chemistry with each other. Dave Bautista is hands down the highlight though. He gives his best performance since The Guardians of the Galaxy films. The action sequences are savage, chic, and oodles of noodles of exciting (spoiler: there's a scene where a character gets their head eaten off by a zombie tiger). The third act alone is worth watching. It gives you everything you want in a ludicrous concept like this. While I was never bored, the movie didn't need to be 2½ hours long. It has a good opening sequence but the first act does wear on for bit and takes a while to get going. The emotional moments, in my opinion, falls 100% flat. Aside from those issues, it's an enjoyable experience. This is honestly Zach Snyder's year and I'm not mad at.
