Lynne Ramsay's films always challenge me in some way, which is good. Phoenix is incredible, and Jonny Greenwood's score is fantastic. I do wish there was just a *bit* more character development (but that's just my current feeling, I'm still processing it). There's also a poetry to her best work (Morvern Callar, Ratcatcher) that I feel is somewhat absent here and in her recent work. That said, this is easily one of the best films from this year.
