This movie gets better and better with every rewatch, in large part because it's such a thrill to watch Soderbergh inflict his various artsy-fartsy influences on a blockbuster audience. Every frame of this movie agonizes over the question "why did anyone trust my bald ass with $110 million?" while simultaneously hollering "fuck it, let's ball."
Truly, the fast and the furious "family > everything" ending feels truly inspired in a way I can't quite place. Soderbergh, more than anyone, knows how to mean it when he plays dumb.
