This is a Best Picture winner that makes sense to me, in the sense that I can see the reasoning behind why it would win. It's about westward travel in the US, about what is essentially the American Dream: building a life. It's just so dull and unmemorable.
The very beginning, with the land rush and those scenes where there is a start to a settlement and people are just starting to establish is interesting but it goes downhill from there.
At the end of the day, Cimarron other than being pretty dull has not aged well at all and not very deserving of being remembered.
