Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
A remake starring Chris Rock of Heaven Can Wait (1978) and Warren Beatty. Rock is co-wrote this remake which I'll give points to for changing from an NFL football player to wanting to be a stand-up comedian, but the basic framework of the story is there. Missing are the amazing co stars that were in Heaven Can Wait. About the only noticeable character here is the maid played by Wanda Sykes (she has some very funny lines).
The romantic chemistry between Rock's character and the woman he's enamored with just ... isn't ... there. Also missing is all the zany murder being solved stuff that was in Heaven Can Wait. Don't waste your time watching this, go watch Heaven Can Wait instead. Not recommended.
