Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
Saw in 3D + HFR and the 3D part seemed greatly underutilized except in a few action scenes, notably the one in the trailer with the motorcycle. I'm not a Will Smith fan. Hated him in I, Robot and this sometimes action film, sometimes dragging snore-fest doppelganger film made me tired in spots.
The story seems like extremely familiar territory, the bad guys are cardboard bad, but the positive is how great it all looks. Visually it really looked fantastic and it seems like that was the emphasis over story and acting that actually mattered. Will Smith roamed around just looking tired. I asked my wife immediately after we left the theater and she said "it was OK." That's about how I felt. I wish the story had been engaging. Not recommended.
