Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
Robin Williams and a young Kirsten Dunst (before Small Soldiers) star in this movie about a board game that, when played, has real jungle-inspired happenings and consequences for the characters. It's a family-friendly movie and found my grandchildren at times being glued to the screen. I would imagine seeing real jungle animals when your under five years old would be pretty exciting.
It does have a very zoo-like feeling to the movie and Robin Williams almost never disappoints. I can see why this one became a franchise with two more films as of this writing, but it came off a bit gimmicky to me at times. The board game device was entertaining and fun, though. Recommended.
