Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
Emilia Clarke plays Kate, who is in a rut mentally and troubled at her job at a small holiday-oriented store dressed up as an elf.
Video Review - just left the theater (no spoilers)
Kate goes to the bar, drinks "like the pirate" (love that line in the trailer from her mother) and sleeps with different guys she picks up at the bar. And then she meets Tom (Henry Golding) who tries to guide her on a better path with her life.
There is a bit of a Twilight Zone feel to this romcom with a nice twist that neither my wife or I saw coming. It was a bit offbeat at times pacing-wise and the viewer is kept interested but off balance. We both liked this one. Lots of music by George Michael. Emilia Clark has a good voice too and sings a fair amount. Recommended.
