Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
Kinda surprised I hadn't caught this one sooner, but I watched mostly for Harley Quinn and Joker and with less interest for Suicide Squad. Jared Leto's portrayal of Joker left me cold, but I enjoyed the romance subplot between Harley and him.
The witch boss didn't really work for me, although I did like how the ending was handled with her. The effects were all over the place. Some were great, some not so good.
Although I knew nothing about Suicide Squad after seeing the film I'm more interested in them. Will Smith as Deadshot? He was ... OK. Actually, better than anything else I've seen him acting in for a while, but doesn't scratch the surface of how good he was in Ali.
Making a note to check out the Suicide Squad comics at DC Universe. This all kept me mostly entertained, so going to recommend. I have no idea how faithful any of this is to the comics and they are making another Suicide Squad, so will see how that goes.
