Todd Russell’s review published on Letterboxd:
John C. Reilly in this humorous musical biopic parody. No artist is sacred for Dewey Cox including The Beatles, Brian Wilson and more. Drug experimentation leading to drug use to abuse, sex and plenty of rock and roll.
I loved Reilly in Stepbrothers. Had my doubts he'd be able to carry a film on his own as he seemed more fitted as a supporting actor, but was way wrong! He's in this film and at times even funnier than he was when he was opposite Will Ferrell. The writing is tight and smart, playing it fast and furious and for those familiar with different music icons, they are lampooned in a very clever way here. A gem of a comedy that kept me thoroughly entertained. Recommended.
