The Running Man 1987
This is a solid B grade action sci-fi film starring Schwarzenegger. Though I can’t help but wonder how much better this would be if Paul Verhoeven had directed it. It has similar vibes to Total Recall & Robocop.

The Nutty Professor 1996
Eddie Murphy is so convincing as all of these characters he plays. From Sherman, to Buddy, to his family and especially as the fitness guru Lance Perkins which Murphy is completely unrecognizable. Being a remake of the 1963 Jerry Lewis comedy of the same name - which itself was a loose adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, this film manages to hold its own as a 90s comedy staple thanks to Murphy’s…

House II: The Second Story 1987
This was a lot of fun. They decided to switch from a horror comedy to a fantasy adventure comedy, which worked really well! The make up effects and puppetry were greatly improved from the first film. The writing is probably better for the first film, but I preferred the ride this film took me on.
