I don’t really have the words to add anything fresh to the conversation surrounding this film but I will just be the next to say that this is so so so well made. Down to the finest of details. And I wish its theatrical release wasn’t just a one off because this film deserves much more than the scale Netflix offers.

I haven’t seen anything shot better than that beach scene this year, without a shadow of a doubt.

Endearing from start to finish, and big emphasis on finish because that final shot is absolutely beautiful. Perfect encapsulation.

My Dad gave me a collection of DVDs of his all time favourite films, and he also wrote a little bit on each DVD. This is what he wrote about Frederico Fellini's '8 1/2'.

The most 'personal' film I've seen - where the role of the director as an artist was central. A disjointed free-flow of ideas which, as Scorsese said, follows the process of creativity - focusing on film-making within a corporation. The struggle towards creation is right.

The helpless help the hopeless. So artistically discreet that it becomes horrifyingly truthful. And so it should. 100 minutes which have the propositional worth to drive an important change. Tells the tale of one, but the story of millions.
