#52FilmsByWomen 2019 pt. 31.
For a film that barely cracks an hour to still be riddled with filler must be some kind of achievement. But as I've said before, I've got a lot of time for any film set in hell, especially when it's a hell that seems to be inspired by various death metal album covers. The FPS inspiration is self-evident (Doom, obv) but I'm more intrigued by the strange fusion of PS2-level CG and lovingly rendered practical gore effects in the Italian splatter tradition. It's not quite like anything I've seen before and I dig it.
