This is the most I’ve struggled with what score to give a film in a long time. The whole way through I was going to give it an 8 but as soon as the credits rolled I began to think it was a 9. I had to look through a couple of my lists before I could decide which score to actually give it.
I loved this film for many reasons for example: the two phenomenal lead performances, the outstanding screenplay, the stunning cinematography, the wonderful costume design and a fantastic score. What all of these have in common is that they recieved oscar nominations so where was the best picture nomination? Carol was better than at least half of the best picture nominees. Fuck the academy.
The chemistry between the leads and ending were both brilliant as well.
I Highly recommend it.
