Tom Beasley’s review published on Letterboxd :
Every time I watch this film, it gets weirder. Like, what is Nicolas Cage doing and why is it so brilliant?
The other thing that gets me is Steve Buscemi. In this film packed with campy action silliness, Buscemi is doing this absurdly brilliant and unsettling turn. His scenes have absolutely zero relevance to the wider plot and could be cut entirely, but they're obviously still there because Buscemi is just so bloody good. A whole movie about that character could be brilliant.
