In the next 24hrs, I am set to become an uncle. This child could be the closest thing to an offspring that I see. Petite Maman is a film about childhood which embodies the tenderness and love which I want to pour onto my niephew.

    Did I want you?

    Yes

    I'm not surprised.

    I'm already thinking about you.

You are so loved Pippin. ❤️

First of all, how is this only a 12?

In Spencer, Pablo Lorrain has crafted one of this year's very best films. His direction here is so frank, it is such an intimate portrayal of Lady Diana and the camera is used to give extreme close ups which often feel too close, too intrusive. As if we are invading her personal space which, of course, is exactly as Diana is feeling in the film. There's one shot in particular, outside…

The cook, the theif is a film that feels made for the stage. With its linear sets which contrast to one another in a stark way and it's Shakespearian stage legends providing some of their best work. But this doesn't, I think detract from its impact as a film. It is a sinister and twisted film with possibly the most monsterous human character in British cinema, Played with masterful skill by Michael Gambon. And an ending which will leave anyone…

Florence Pugh is really good but they kept trying to make her the funny one and give her really badly written marvel jokes and it just didn't work. We didn't get any of the Natasha development that we had missed from literally all of the film's she's been in. A little bit uneventful story wise. A little boring.

It's a bit overcrowded, but I really enjoyed it. It would have made a good mini series but it still made a pretty good film. Some excellent performances from Skarsgard and Holland and Pattinson. A couple of very compelling and interesting story lines that came together in a very interesting way.
