I can’t remember the last time I was this uniquely moved by an art form. I’m utterly blown away.
The way this film deals with acting as an art form for this discussion is magnificent. It’s some of the most clever and thought-provoking writing i’ve experienced in this medium.
You can notice inspirations from past films carefully placed which are vital to the film’s themes of mirroring, with two all-timer mirror shots that tie together almost too wonderfully.
Juliette Binoche is earth shattering here. She continues to be one of the very greatest working actors. Her teaming up with Kiarostami is just a dream come true to me, and the fact that the film is just this good only makes me happier.
