It was completely beautiful and great.
The line between the wilderness to the tenderness, pinky’s innocence and fragility, millie’s presence and strength, reversal of the balance of powers, the examination of alienation and solitude. It was all very beautiful. Kind of film that allows your mind to wander away and have your own insights and understandings.
Two damn hours and not even a second to explain what the fuck is going on
However, maybe that’s the grace of it all. The film feels like a sudden war that lands on Bodega Bay. And as it’s typical during wars, we’re being baptized in the lack of awareness and the absolute unknown that spreads around in Bodega Bay. Instead of doing the classic move, giving us the explained ending and pleasing us with satisfactory, Hitchcock decides to go differently, leaving us with concern and thrilled to know what’s going on, just like the residents who go through this abrupt crisis.
This film is just nothing but great. Idk how to explain, but it is so unique and absolutely astonishing. Well, maybe I do know. At some moments during the film, most of them actually, it took extra concentration and focus to be able to keep up and not be bored - not at all because the film is boring, but because it is completely detailed, requiring the watcher to completely concentrate.
