• The Marvels

    The Marvels

Fine. Still feels like they’re trying to capture the old MCU magic and it quite getting it.

  • Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One

Gave up halfway in. Paint by the numbers story and dialogue. Tom Cruise no longer charming.

  • Bottoms

    Wet Hot 2000s?

  • Aliens

First time watching since a kid. Rewatching the whole franchise with my daughter.

It was way smaller scale than I remember. Sure, there were way more Aliens, and more people with more military gear, but still about a small group of survivors trying to get the hell out.

For some reason in my mind, I pictured huge armies and convoys of military vehicles, and big wide angle shots of armies battling Aliens.

Anyway, I feel like this is treated as the embarrassing big blockbuster cousin of the first movie. But honestly it’s a very similar and almost equally as good a movie, just MORE.

  • Empire of the Sun

    Empire of the Sun

My entire family was captivated by this start to finish. Hasn’t happened in a long time.

  • Asteroid City

    Asteroid City

Style is impeccable. Seems like it thinks it has substance. But it doesn’t.

  • The Flash

    The Flash

    It was actually pretty fun.

  • Jaws 3-D

    Jaws 3-D

Met all expectations. Kind of wish I saw with the red and blue glasses but will still good to see in 3D!

  • Cocaine Bear

    Cocaine Bear

All movies should be this length. Also there is a bear doing cocaine.

  • The Matrix

    The Matrix

Introduce the kids to it last night. Still holds up. Slight bitter after taste of the whole “red pill” thing being appropriated by the alt right.

  • BlackBerry

I thought it would be good. It was surprisingly great.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Gonna miss James Gunn in the MCU.
