When I was a young girl
My mother took me into the city
    To see the fashion show
She said "Girl, when you grow up
Would you be the saviour of the broken
    The queers and unpaid designers"
She said "Will you defeat them,
The critics and all the non-believers
    And bury Emma Thompson
Because one day, I'll leave you
A necklace to lead you in the summer
    To kill those goddamn dogs"

Tense! Derickson is trying a lot of different stuff, style-wise, and most of it works. Hawke is phenomenal, but I wish we'd seen more of him, especially seeing how the film doesn't delve into the psychology of his character at all. Still, what the film gives us is fairly disturbing.

Can't believe I was forced to watch 3 (THREE!!!) wonderful Pixar films at home only to be nostalgia-baited into watching a lame Star Wars rip-off as their return-to-theathers event. Shocker: without the existential crisis of being a toy in a people's world, Buzz Lightyear is lame as hell.

My friends looked over at me during the film and whispered "you look like you're in pain". I would not follow Andy on Letterboxd.
