Antonio’s review published on Letterboxd:
Suffers from pacing issues and really should’ve been titled Part 1, but none of that matters when what is on screen is so ambitious and when every frame is gorgeous. From the music to the voice acting, to the visuals, the aesthetic is just unbelievable - and then you combine that with the emotion. These characters are just so real and so well crafted, and all these elements work together to captivate you for the entire 2 hour 15 min runtime. Yes it suffers from being half a movie, but it’s a half that’s so satisfying that I just cannot be mad.
Miles’ story has never been as good as it has been in these movies. Lord and Miller have taken that character so such heights, and I don’t know how long it’ll be before we see other writers create a Miles story on par with this one. They’ve really breathed such life into this character and it makes me so happy. The fact that there are still Spider-Man stories I can still fall in love with is so exciting for me.
NOTE: I saw a test screening a couple months ago that was only half complete and god am I happy to see the finished visuals.
