• Creed II

    Creed II

    ★★★

This was built up as the sequel to Rocky IV, one of my favorite Rocky movies ever. While it wasn't as good as the original Creed, this movie was still satisfying nevertheless. The fight sequences were well shot and choreographed. The final round between Viktor Drago and Creed was especially well done. Rocky and Ivan's reunion in Adrian's restaurant felt somewhat anti-climatic and didn't deliver the spark into the next act it could have been.

    Assuming there is a third…

Wonder Woman: Why did you say we have to fight?

Batman: I have this feeling...[looks at camera and smiles]...that there will be more movies in the future.

The most entertaining thing about this film was seeing Jim Carrey's Dumb and Dumber alter ego character firing an assault rifle in his undies.

Great adaptation of the original novel. Nick and Amy are complicated and compelling characters, each with their own flaws and inner demons. Love is a complicated beast. As quickly as it brought the two together, it eventually devoured the two and turned them into easily the most bizarre couple you can imagine.

Ignore the plot and poor acting. Drool over the amazing visuals and cinematography. Worth watching on the big screen.

Exceeded my expectations. It's definitely a "feel-good" film. Don't let the black-and-white shots scare you.
