The Hand of God

The Hand of God ★★★★★

Coming of Age movies are usually a hit or miss for me, not a genre I’ve really been attached to and I know Sorrentino isn’t for everyone do I didn't know what to expect. For some reason though, this one really messed with me idk. This is the only other one of his projects I have watched outside of The Young Pope and The New Pope and I gotta watch the rest of his stuff because i just feel like his work falls directly into my idea of what I would want my dramas to feel like.

With the help of the cast that genuinely felt like a big family and the amazing cinematography, I found myself getting lost in the scenery of 80’s Naples. There was one shot done at night that stunned me in particular even though it really wouldn’t be all that special on paper.

This might be my favorite of the year and I'm glad i caught it as this year comes to a close, I think I needed this.
