“I’m sorry. That last hand...it nearly killed me.”

I liked this so much and I’m so excited for Cary Fukunaga’s take on the franchise. A most formal set of take aways here:

-Rolled my eyes entirely through the cardiac arrest scene.
-Le Chiffre’s flourish with the poker chips, though 👌🏻
-Inject all of that sweet, sweet cinematography into my veins, please. This was fake-grainy af and I’m here for it. Warm key lights, hard shadows on the walls, very teal water. subtle colour coordination... loved it. Oh- or when Eva Green was walking through the Venetian crowd in vibrant red. Loved it.
-This was also just a total vibe. I wish I was James Bond... or at least knew how to play poker properly.
-Eva Green was so good, what the heck? Obviously, Mads Mikkelsen was the stand out, though.
