  another example of finally watching a movie that i've been meaning to forever because it's on a class's syllabus, and i'm so glad it was. what a spectacular film.

  i got into a bit of a discussion with a male classmate of mine who said he found the ending "too happy" and he thought it would've been better, narratively, if mima was the one committing the crimes all along. i disagree with this on basically every level. there's another review…
