as many other people have said, definitely could have done without the yellowface and racism. SO unnecessary and very very terrible. i kept watching for audrey hepburn though and aside from the racist scenes involving mickey rooney, this movie was enjoyable. i loved holly, didn’t have an issue with that blonde guy.... it was overall a lot more entertaining than i had anticipated. i definitely had some preconceived notions about what this, as an older film, may be like but i was pleasantly surprised by the way the film went. aside from mickey rooney.... they need to do an edit and just get rid of that. i’d say remake it even, but i don’t think you could capture the charm audrey brings to this without her starring.
