Charlie Ours’s review published on Letterboxd:
An incredible film that makes me extremely happy that it was made. It’s one of the best bio pics I’ve seen since Ed Wood. I’ve always loved RR Moore but this film really gave me a whole knew appreciation for the film. There’s so many stories Rudy spoke about his start in the industry and all of those are featured here in this film. Such a tribute. Know Eddie Murphy plays Eddie Murphy unfortunately. I feel he didn’t capture the essence of Rudy and I know Eddie was Rudy’s biggest fan and loved the man but Eddie after 2000’s just is a one note actor. The movie is incredible though and the ending made me so happy. I wish Netflix had not made it, the music was cliche, the lighting was generic, the overall ascetically was just generic and looked like a commercial, and it had poor casting especially the girl they got for Lady Reed.
