this movie is so gorgeous and affecting. gritty and fuzzy and warm. the ending didn’t give us some sad Call Me By Your Name ending (which was good but didn’t feel right for this film), nor a Portrait of a Lady on Fire ending (which is similar to the other but a little less intense). it also didn’t give us a padded “everything works out” ending. it gave us an ambiguous enough ending, but its ending (like the movie itself) really bleeds with an inexplicable hope.
